Corporate Retreats at Flakebridge Estate

Flakebridge Estate is a dedicated corporate retreat venue in Cumbria, offered on an exclusive-use basis to a single group at a time. The estate accommodates eight to forty-four guests across twenty-two en-suite bedrooms, with multiple meeting and dining spaces, a full commercial kitchen and dedicated service throughout the stay. Set within unspoilt countryside on the northern edge of the Lake District, the estate offers something a conventional venue cannot replicate: complete privacy, expansive views across the Eden Valley and a quiet that allows for genuinely focused work. The estate team works directly with executive assistants, in-house event managers and external agencies to coordinate logistics, accommodation, catering and activities. Suited to: leadership retreats, board meetings, business strategy sessions, away days, product launches, press trips, client entertainment, corporate celebrations and private meetings.

Pole Barn & Courtyard

The Pole Barn Courtyard provides ground-floor rooms and loft chambers, all en-suite with king-size beds and uninterrupted views across the Eden Valley. Designed by award-winning interior designer Rachel McLane in collaboration with LHL, the rooms combine clean architectural lines with warmth and texture: bespoke joinery, layered lighting and curated artwork inspired by the surrounding landscape. One fully accessible bedroom is located within the courtyard. In-room amenities include coffee machines, fridges, safes, Smart TVs and ironing facilities. The courtyard is suited to larger corporate groups requiring uniform accommodation, and can be hired alongside the Main Courtyard for full estate use.

Main Courtyard

The Main Courtyard contains seven stone cottages with twelve en-suite bedrooms, each with kitchenettes, lounges and super king beds. Interiors are richer and more textured than those in the Pole Barn, with original stonework, log burners and considered finishes throughout. The cottages are arranged around a landscaped courtyard with a central fountain, set within the original heart of the estate. The principal meeting and dining spaces, including the Hide, the Glass Room, the Drawing Room, the Billiard Room, the Dining Room and the private upstairs bar, are all located within the courtyard.

Meeting and Event Spaces

Meeting and event spaces are configured to suit boardroom-style sessions, breakout groups, presentations and full-group dining.

  • The Hide seats forty-four for private dining or sixty buffet style, with bar, kitchen, toilets and conference facilities.
  • The Glass Room seats up to twenty-four, light-filled with kitchen facilities
  • The Dining Room seats up to twenty (boardroom for twelve or round table for twenty), with views over the fells
  • The Drawing Room features a vaulted ceiling, open fire and large arch windows
  • The Billard Room offers a full-size snooker table, seventy-inch TV, bar, open fire and curated wine collection
  • The Private Bar is a discreet upstairs setting with soft seating, wood-burning stove and TV, available fully stocked.

Full AV equipment, conference set-up and commercial catering are available across the estate.

"Low Barn is an exceptional venue set in a fabulous, secluded location that immediately puts you at ease. The space is finished to a very high standard, creating a beautiful and comfortable environment for any event. What truly elevates the experience, though, is Toniann, the manager. She is wonderfully discreet, incredibly approachable and handles every request with ease. Her communication throughout the process is excellent and her local knowledge is invaluable. A truly outstanding venue with outstanding management. Highly recommended."
