Group Accommodation at Flakebridge Estate
Flakebridge Estate provides exclusive-use group accommodation in Cumbria for corporate retreats, private stays and wedding parties. Twenty-two en-suite bedrooms are available across two private courtyards, sleeping up to forty-four guests, with a minimum stay of two nights and a minimum group size of eight. The estate is offered on a single-group basis only, with no shared spaces and no other guests on site at any time.
Set within the rolling landscape of the Eden Valley, the estate combines expansive countryside views, complete seclusion and a high-specification interior scheme throughout. Both courtyards can be hired together for full estate use, or separately depending on the size of the group.
The Pole Barn & Courtyard
Ground-floor rooms and loft chambers arranged around a contemporary courtyard, all en-suite with king-size beds and views across the Eden Valley to the Pennines. The architectural interiors combine clean lines with warmth and texture: bespoke joinery, layered lighting and curated artwork inspired by the surrounding landscape. One fully accessible bedroom is located within the courtyard. Amenities include coffee machines, fridges, safes, Smart TVs and ironing facilities.
The Main Courtyard
Seven stone cottages containing twelve en-suite bedrooms, each with kitchenettes, lounges and super king beds. The cottages sit around a landscaped courtyard with a central fountain, within the original heart of the estate. Interiors are richer and more textured than those in the Pole Barn, with original stonework, log burners, leather and linen palettes, and bathrooms finished in deep, considered colour. The cottages are located adjacent to the principal meeting and dining spaces.
Exclusive Hire
Flakebridge is only available on an exclusive-use basis. There are no shared facilities, no other groups on site, and no reception desk. For the length of the stay, the estate, the grounds and the team are dedicated entirely to your booking. Guests have full and uninterrupted use of the courtyards, woodland, walking routes and outdoor space, with views across the Eden Valley in every direction.
This level of seclusion is rare and is the defining feature of the venue. It is particularly well suited to senior corporate stays where confidentiality matters, to private parties wanting full control of their environment, and to wedding parties seeking high-quality accommodation close to a nearby venue.
Seasonal Stays at Flakebridge
The estate is open year-round, with the character of the stay shifting through the seasons. Spring and summer bring full use of the grounds, light-filled rooms, long evenings on the courtyard terraces and walking from the door. Autumn brings deeper colour across the landscape and the early evenings of the shooting season. Winter is well suited to stays where the focus turns inward, with log burners lit throughout, the Billiard Room and private bar coming into their own, and the wider estate taking on a particular stillness.
Greater flexibility on dates is available during spring and summer, when the outdoor spaces can be fully programmed into the stay.
Accessibility
